Asha Project
Asha Project was founded in 2018 to empower women at-risk for exploitation in rural West Bengal, India, through dignified work and economic opportunity.
On Asha Project
Asha means “hope” in Hindi—and that’s exactly what the project exists to provide. Many of the women employed have long believed they were incapable of change, but through Asha, they are rediscovering their worth and using traditional skills like kantha stitching to create beautiful, handmade products.
With over 180 artisans employed and a U.S. warehouse in Virginia, every purchase helps restore dignity, support families, and break the cycle of poverty—one stitch at a time.
